~ Ridge's School Trip to Lake Tahoe ~

Taylor Creek, Lake Tahoe

Yesterday was a big day for Ridge, he had a field trip to Taylor Creek, Lake Tahoe. They were going to see the spawning of Kokanee Salmon. In other words like Ridge said go see Salmon make babies. They have what is called a viewing chamber and it has glass windows and you can see all kinds of things like,Trout, crayfish, insects, and other things you would find in a creek. He said it was almost like going to the bottom of a creek without getting wet. They also had sound effects to. Also they told us to have them wear red and when they went in the viewing chamber it would attract the fish. They have a festival every year durning the first week of Oct. I know by the way he talked there was alot more he would have liked to seen so, maybe next year we can do that as a family outing. It's only about 45 min from here.
He had a great time and the weather was great. He dressed a little warmer since it's gets pretty chilly up in the mountains. He was a little sad that he didn't get to see a bear but I know one day we probably will.
