Wednesday's Walk - Dinner Time

It's Wednesday's Walk .........

A look back at something special anything that has some special meaning to you. Just click on the button to join in.

This past weekend I was thinking about how growing up and the importance of us all being together at the Dinner table. Especially at supper time it was a time to share things that happened durning the day. I know that things have changed a lot since I was young and it takes two to work and sometimes , it can't be helped to not have that together time anymore.

I have a lot of good memories of us eating dinner together. It was a great sharing time plus eating but we were all together. I remember everyday it was someone else's turn to say grace. I remember a saying that hung on my Mom's dining room wall " The family that prays together stays together ". It was a lot of good times and funny how when your young it didn't seem all that important , to always be there but now that I am older with my own family I can see the need for something so simple as being together at dinner time.

That's my memory for today and hoping you have a great Wednesday.

God Bless

That a beautiful memory! I loved having dinner as a family growing up too. I'm grateful that both my husband and I grew up that way, so that we can carry it on with our kids.

Most of the time growing up we ate at the dinner table and that's def something I want to have with our children. The week we had Hannah we ate at the table and it was nice and I'd like to keep it up. Just have to keep all the stuff off the table!

I need to plan more dinners at the table! Sundays are about our only time with all of us at the table but it's such a special time!

:-) Thanks for sharing, what a beautiful memory! I too love having dinner at the table with the whole family.
I actually had a major break down a few months back. We always eat dinner with my parents on Sundays, and this particular Sunday... I was having a really rough day...and all the men decided they wanted to eat in front of the TV, because the Cowboys were playing. I flipped out and ended up staying upstairs, crying...
Dinners at the table are very important to me...

Caroline that is a special memory. I have very special memories from my childhood too. And with my kids as they were growing up.

I think life is too busy these days, and many people don't spend enough time around the table together. And it is a shame.

Thanks for the memory.

I also have great memories of family dinners, nightly, when I was growing up. I hope I am creating those for my kids! Thanks for sharing.

We just recently started eating meals at the table more often. My husband works nights, so it is kind of hard. But I agree that special memories are made at the table.
