~ Secret Ingredient - LOVE ~

What Love Really Means

Today I'm joining Mattie and some other bloggers in writing about LOVE in February. Mattie will be posting a link everyday and so be sure to check out her blog. Plus hosting some giveaways too during the month of February.

Love is the secret ingredient to Life.

First I grew up with both parents and I know how much they loved each other. I can always remember seeing them kiss each other when Dad went to work or came home. I always thought as a child my parents had just the best marriage. I remember when my Dad found out he had cancer and was only given six months to live. There love never changed. It just got stronger. I got a extra special lesson in love five months before my Dad passed away. I was in a terrible accident and I had to make lots of trips to the Dr's office. My Mom didn't drive but Dad did and he seen that every other day I was at the appointments. One day my Dr asked me how I got there since I shouldn't be driving. I told him my Dad. He said that's real love don't ever forget that. My Dad lived 3 yrs past what they said , which was just awesome.

I always had a deep love for children and in the small town I grew up I was called the local babysitter to call. When I was 17 I was told I would never be able to have a child. When I was 35 , I gave birth to a son Ridge , my first child and it wasn't the normal pregnancy. I didn't even know I was pregnant. A lot of people think it's silly and there is no way this could happen but it did. I remember not having much time to call anyone to tell them in the middle of the night but as soon as I seen that little boy and never knowing he was there so much LOVE. I have three daughters who have brought me so much LOVE also. I have three grown step-children who I LOVE just like my own.

I have this picture as a reminder of my three precious children who are a part of us everyday even though they live in Heaven. Every time I look at this I feel so much LOVE.

I also have been blessed with a wonderful husband who is very loving and is taking today and tomorrow off from his busy job. In the past couple months he has been working a lot. We have no big plans just spending time together because LOVE is the secret ingredient to Life

Most of all my favorite verse on LOVE ~

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. - John 3:16

I think it is important for parents to model love in a marriage for their children.

You should submit your story to that show I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant. That would be cool to see you on there :)

Beautiful post! I was lucky enough to be raised by sweet parents also. Mother always stayed at home and cooked, sewed, and did numerous other things. They also taught me about Jesus. Your dad was amazing, to take you to the doctor when he was sick himself. Love your new bloggy look! I love that Bible verse - my favorite! That is an amazing story about you & Ridge. I've missed you! xoxo

Thanks for this sweet post, Caroline. I love the heart picture, too. And, what a beautiful testimony of love your parents gave you.

Love to you...
