The Garden

Friday I volunteered in the garden all day at school. Thursday night when I came home from Ridge's concert I got a phone call asking me. It was going to be nice and they were having plants delivered at 9am. I didn't take Carly or I probably wouldn't have got much done.

We got a lot done Friday almost all the beds planted. A Huge Yay !!!! I pulled children from all different classes that had all there school work done. I usually had four students with me at all times.

Here is the sorta tricky part , my first class was Kindergarten. They were so cute and most of them had never done anything like that before. It was also sorta tough I have been thinking about the upcoming school year and how I should have a little boy starting school this year. I didn't cry but I thought about it when they were planting and watering. Then I thought of how blessed I am to be able to volunteer when I can. Get to see children from all ages and think of how there was a day I never thought I would be a Mother. The one little guy thanked me for taking him to the garden. My heart smiled and I sorta hid a tear as it fell down my cheek. I'm happy for the chance to help others and God you are so very good all the time. I know those trips to the garden may not mean a lot to some but to me they help me deal with my grief in knowing that I'm so much stronger because of you.

Here is a couple of my Kindergarten students. I will never forget these moments.

I think that is wonderful that you are able to help out.....you just never know what a difference you might make in one of those children's lives. :)

it is good that you could use all the different classes to help out, Caroline, as you pulled the different kids. I'm sure each of them enjoyed that special time working with you and then they will all have a part in watching things grow, etc. I think it is good that you choose to help out as you can, dealing with your sadness and grief of the little ones that aren't part of your earthly family now, but you go on despite the sadness to help other kids get to experience adventures like this. That takes a strong compassionate woman to do this!
