Remembering at Christmas 2010

If you are missing someone you love this Christmas, someone of ANY age who is spending Christmas with Jesus this year, I hope you will join us on this very special Walking With You. We are sharing our Christmas memories and the ways that we remember our loved ones who have gone home to heaven at Christmas time. If you do not have a blog or do not wish to link a post, you may leave your Christmas memories in the comments below. If you do a post on your blog, come back and link up on the MckLinky following this post.

This is the post I submitted last year ......
I added on to it at the end of some new things we are doing.

Christmas is different after the loss of two babies that we never got to meet. One thing that we do during the holiday season is take a boy and a girl from an Angel tree and buy for them. It is alot of fun and we usually make it a family affair as to what we buy. Trying to have everyone add there imput makes it so much fun. Another thing that we do is donate to our children's school for there Food Drive. We donate things that they don't normally get like Baby Food and diapers. We try to stop and think of the little ones who may need something like that. On our tree we have two angels one in blue which is a bunny angel since my first miscarriage was a boy. Then one in purple. The children have a bear that they put on every year for the babies.

Now I would like to share about how we remember my Dad. He loved Christmas I would have to say it was prolly his most favorite time of year. Every year at home the first thing we put up was not the christmas tree, it was the nativity. So that's one thing that I have always done even when I got my own place. He never wanted us to forget the real reason of Christmas. I can still remember that on Christmas morning Dad always read the story of Jesus's Birth out of the Bible and as we got older we each read a couple verses, before any presents were opened. I have been doing that now with our family. The kids picked out one for Grandpa which they never got the chance to meet but it has Mary and Joeseph on it, since Grandpa loved the Christmas story so much.

Last I remember my Grandma Zollars on my Mom's side. I spent alot of time with her growing up and she taught me alot. She passed away in 1999. One thing I tresure is she taught me how to crosstitch, so I made a Santa that hangs on our tree.

This is new added this year ~ We are joining in with my children's school and feeding two families Christmas Dinner this year. They have a tree set up at the school just like the angel tree for gifts this one is to feed a family for christmas. Meaning we buy all the meal then the family picks it up and can fix it. I'm excited about it and so are the kids.

Also we are donating some diapers and new oneies and wipes to the Pregnancy Care Center here in town.

It is so special to reflect and remember those we love at Christmas. I love the memories we carry with us...even when our loved ones have gone home to heaven. That is wonderful that you will be donating a meal to families this Christmas...and other items to those in need. What a great way to honor the memory of those you love.

Blessings to you this Christmas and in the coming year...
