Watermelon is so Yummy !!!!

It's one of my favorite things in the summer , well all of ours. I can remember when I was young we always planted some in our garden.

Well Monday I went out and got the mail and we got the Smith's Ad. So later that nite I sat down and was going through the ad. Here they had a whole Seedless Watermelon for $ 3.49 a piece. Well the sale started today and after breakfast I got Carly ready and we headed to Smith's. I had just a couple other things I wanted to pick up. We don't live far from there so it was just a nice walk before it got HOT out. Ridge stayed with one of the neighbors , so it was just the girls and I.

We got a good size one and they had lots. I decided I would just get one for now to see how good it tasted. So after lunch we cut it and it was great. I had a sorta rough day yesterday w/ a neighbor girl. I decided we had enough watermelon for us after supper so I went ahead and cut a tray of it for the neighborhood kids. Ridge said Mom that's what I love about you !! Your so nice to everyone even if things are bad. I reminded him that we are to be like Jesus and that's what he would want. Yesterday a child called one of my daughter's a name and it hurt her but it hurt me to. I handled it best I could and Today is a brand new day and Jesus teaches us to forgive. I told Ridge we can't change yesterday but today is a new day and this is what counts.

Today even though we are 2500 miles apart , we love you so very much. We are so proud of you in everything you do.

It's so hard to believe that when I first met you at only 12. Watching you at your eight grade graduation and through High School and now college.

So Happy Birthday from all The Croley Gang !!!!!! Hope your day is extra special !!! And in all the days that follow.

Father's Day Gifts

Well I'm a little late on posting these. We had a pretty good day. It was sorta stressful but it always is for me and Paul to. His Father passed away when he was 12 so I know it is tough. He watched NASCAR and tried to catch up on sleep. I took the girls for a walk and we ended up being gone longer than I planned but Hey at least he got to watch the race and play on computer w/out all the noise.

I came home and fixed Chicken Breasts , Baked Potatoes, Corn on the Cob so he was happy for that.

The kids before school was out made gifts for Dad. I don't really remember making something for my Dad. I know we did for Mom. Anyway I thought I would share what they made.

Jennifer made a paper weight. A few weeks ago for her homework they had to go find a rock. Dad took her and I knew what it was for. I thought it was so sweet he helped her pick out his Father's Day Present and he didn't even know it.





Ridge made a Father's Day Card but it is so special. His teacher always has such good ideas. I just love it and she took the time to take there pics for everyone in the class.






Marie wrote this , it was on a paper to big to scan so I retyped it.

I thought she did very good and Dad liked it too.

Also I was going to make a Father's Day cake but while grocery shopping Saturday , Jennifer found a huge cookie decorated for Father's Day at Wal*Mart. So I said it was ok since they bought me a cake from there. Anyway it was good and Dad liked it.



All in all it was a nice Father's Day and the gifts were wonderful because they were all handmade.

Picnic / Fun at the Park

Today we went on a picnic at lunch .......

I just love spending time like this and what's the best we are makin some great memories together. It was rather warm today , so we went to lunch a little early. Carly just loved it , really her first picnic since she is walking now. I might have went overboard on the pics but we had a great time.









Then we stopped by the exercise part of the park. The kids love it.







Hope you enjoyed the pics. That was our Wednesday and it's so nice to , we live right next to the park. We had a great time. The kids have VBS later this afternoon which goes the rest of the week.

Life ....... wishing it was simple

Today I'm so frustrated but then I have been for about a month now. Sometimes I just wish I could runaway from it all , but I can't. I know that wouldn't do any good. It's just a lot has been going on so I feel the need to write down the way I feel. Hoping no one minds. I'm still trying to get the kids back in there school. Paul is working the next 13 days straight and 10 hr days. A lot of this has to do w/my step-son if you remember a few months back. Well when we moved to our new apartment a couple months ago.

Jared did not move with us. He moved out which was good. It's been great to not have to worry about him and his moods and things he liked to do that we didn't approve of. Well then about a month after he moved out we found out where he was working was closing it's doors. He had one interview somewhere and doesn't have a job yet. So Paul has talked to him about maybe enlisting in the service. He could take some classes and have a roof over his head and food to eat and medical. Of course his options are not that. I know Paul won't let him live on the streets but he told him if he enlisted he could live here until he left. I know some of you might think why doesn't he try to work where his Dad does but Paul doesn't think he could handle it. They work a lot to. I'm not sure what will happen.

Jared has a plan of going backpacking across the USA. Which might be alright but he has no money and it just is making Dad and I worry. I was really upset w/him when he moved out because he didn't have all the money for his apartment so he pawned some of the kids game stuff. I prayed about it and I have tried to forget it ever happened.

I look at this problem and think it could happen to one of our children someday. I just don't think Jared is trying hard and Paul was hoping him being out on his own would make him stop and think about what is important. So I'm praying today and in the days to come for God to help Jared and us through this. I'm praying for no words to be said that will make things worse. It's just hard ...... but I know that God is always there for each and everyone of us.



So I'm trying to put on a simple smile and I know to well there could be worse things happen in our life. I also had a sweet friend on Facebook send me this little poster and it's so true.

Yay 4 Summer

HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SUMMER !!!!!!

Summer is my favorite season. I look forward to so much fun.

Cookouts , Ice Cream , Watermelon , Steaks on the Grill or Burgers too. Swimming and going to the park , a day at the beach or whatever we want to enjoy.

So Happy First Day of Summer. Hoping yours is a great one and a safe one.



What's so hard to believe is the 4th of July is almost here already.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there.

Some Dad's have a child in Heaven. Some Dad's have children they don't get to see everyday , that might live far away. Some Dad's may be waiting on a child to be born.

Happy Father's Day !!!

Today I'm remembering My Father that lives in Heaven. He has been gone for 24 yrs. The hurt is still there , it never goes away. I used to not like looking at the cards in the store , balloons and all the other stuff. Now that I have children it has been a little easier. It still hurts and some days I just wish we could talk about something silly or serious or my children that he never got a chance to meet. I have two precious angels that live in Heaven , so I know he is there with him. It's just the missing him that makes me sad but then I think of that favorite verse in Bible



I remember what God did for us so we could see our loved ones in Heaven again. I'm excited and I wait with the hope of knowing that the day will come when I can see my Father again , as I look forward to living in Heaven forever with God.

Our Little , Big Girl

Last week , I done so many posts on the other children........ school kids and all the stuff they were awarded. I felt like I was leaving my little ray of sunshine out of everything.

So today I'm gonna tell you some of the Awesome things Carly is doing .........



Even though I have watched the rest of them do things , Carly is really out there. I know that with me not working I can do more than when I had a job. It helps having the older ones around but still she is just really trying so hard.

The kids and I all read to her and I think Jennifer is really helping a lot. She had to practice things for school so when Carly was young , Jennifer would sit in front of her and practice her sounds of the Alphabet and read. When she was little we would make silly noises but as she started getting older I told the kids no baby talk to her. Every time I give her the sippy cup I always say , Thank you Carly. Well after a month of working on it you can sometimes hear a little part of it. So we have been working on Please and the kids names and others .......

Here is the Big one ....... a couple weeks ago Carly went and got a diaper. Here she was wet. Then a couple days later she had a diaper and was trying to get the wipes. I keep the wipes up because one day I caught her just sitting there having fun pulling them out. Well here she had a poopy diaper. I thought how Awesome is that. I'm really liking it that she already doesn't like to be wet. I was telling Paul when he came home from work the other night that she does it a lot now almost daily she gets her own diaper for me , at least a couple times a day. Sometimes when I'm busy it's really sweet that she wants to tell me that way. I love it and I'm hoping it lasts......... she will be going to the potty soon.

Oh yeah and she is walking almost running........has been since her birthday !!!!

This one is just cute , we watch Nick Jr alot and Carly all of a sudden started liking the show called The Fresh Beat Band. It was funny I was in the kitchen last week when the kids were still in school and Carly was trying so hard to dance to it.

Well that pretty much where she is at right now. I feel better now , I didn't want to leave her out.
