Remembering God is Near "Part One "

First of all I want to start this post out by saying that there are some things in life that we can't always control like our court system. Also this is a little long so bear with me.

This goes back to 4 yrs ago today. My older two children had visitation at there fathers's home. There Father is what I would call a junkie but some how he still got visitation. The courts sometimes don't always see the whole picture and to this day I don't see how I could have got mixed up with someone like that. He was able to hide a lot from me , so once I realized things it was too late.

Anyway he had the children for the day. I was at work and I had told him I would stop by after work to check on the children. Ridge was 5 and Marie was 3. So I stopped by and knocked on the door and finally he answered. First thing out of his mouth was Ridge got hurt this morning. I of course asked is he ok ? Why didn't you call me ? I wanted to see Ridge but he said he was sleeping. I heard Ridge so I knew that wasn't true. I knew something was up because he didn't want me to see him. Finally after 5 minutes he let me see him. Here Ridge had been stabbed by his own Father. I was going NUTS and his arm wasn't taken care of right. I asked him when did this happen ? He said about 2am. Why ??????? Because Ridge wanted something to drink. I took both of the kids and took Ridge to the hospital. I was so scared and nervous and also pregnant trying to stay calm. I called Paul and told him what had happened. We weren't married at the time but were going through a tough time ourselves. He was working so I called my Best Friend and she came to the hospital to help with Marie and she also was watching Jennifer. Things turned out ok. Ridge got to come home and my worst fear had happened his Dad had hurt him. I cried so hard but was so thankful that God watched over my son Ridge. I'm so glad things weren't any worse.

As I write this today I'm so thankful that my son is finally able to use a pair of scissors and will use a butter knife. Ridge tells me it was a pair of scissors he used but Ridge says it was dark and hard to tell. He wouldn't pick up anything like that until this year. It has been a long road but Ridge is doing so good today. I'm so thankful that even as a mother we can't be everywhere with our children but God is always there to watch over all of us. So I am going to close with this verse.

“God's Watching Over Me”

I lift up my eyes to the hills — where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip — he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

[Psalm 121: 1-4 NIV]

God Bless

That is such a sad story. It is hard to go through such scary and hard times. I am so glad that God is near especially in our trials.

No matter what happens we can look to God and depend on Him Amen? (:>)

Scary story. I'm glad Ridge is doing better. Don't beat yourself up about not seeing what your ex was like till it was too late. It seems like the dangerous ones are the most charming of all. I memorized that scripture in 2008 so I grinned when I recognized it. ~Debbie

How scary it must have been then to experience that. I am so glad that God was watching over Ridge and that he wasn't seriously harmed.
