Ridge's Birthday Party

Well last night was the Birthday party , I picked kids up from school. I always let the kids pick there favorite food for dinner. Ridge picked Spaghetti , good choice we all love it.

I found this neat recipe on Pinterest & thought I would give it a shot.

I always make there Birthday cake. Ridge just wanted a simple chocolate but wanted some music notes on it. I wasn't sure I could do it ??????? Well he was happy with it. He loves music and has enjoyed being in the band this year.

We had asked Ridge what he wanted for his birthday & I was so shocked at what it was. He wanted BOOKS to read. Ridge loves to read & wants to be a writer someday. I was very pleased & I give a lot of credit to our schools new reading program. This is there second year with it & my kids read anyway but sooooooo much more. We ordered his books online & they will be here sometime tomorrow. Last night the neighbor gave him twenty dollars & he bought some little skateboards that he likes to play with.

So it was a very good birthday & Ridge said to Thank everyone for all the wishes.

I can't believe how fast 12 yrs have went. I can't believe in just six more years you will be 18. Too fast my boy. I still will never forget what I felt 12 yrs ago today I finally got my biggest wish to be a MOMMY !!!

So Many Emotions

Tonight so much I wanta write about so many emotions going on in my head.

The weekend went so fast but doesn't it always.

Jennifer brought home some papers that needed to be signed & sent back. These papers were very special. I knew that the school was thinking of doing this they had spoke with me earlier in the school year. They were GATE papers , GATE means Gifted and Talented Education. Paul & I are so proud of her. None of my children went to preschool all learning came from good babysitters & of course us when we weren't working. I do give some credit to Nick Jr and Dora , Lol. She had a pretest last week and scores we very high. I'm so thankful that the school has a program for those students that are above others. Ridge went through the same program so this is not totally new to us. He still is in it & has been great to see him work hard & learn more at a young age. I'm so thankful that God has blessed me with such great children all of them here with me & in Heaven. It just makes me wonder what those kids are like that aren't here with me. I can't wait til Heaven.

One thing Paul & I also discussed this weekend together was the fact that all of our children run on the up side I'm so glad that they are kind to others & always willing to help someone out at school or at home w/ neighbors.

I'm so thankful God gave me the chance to be a parent.

Carly's Lunch Date

To cute , Little Miss Carly was going to eat lunch but had to have her best pal Minnie Mouse there. She also had Daddy's picture laying beside her. She wasn't up this morning when Daddy left , I think she was really missing getting to say Goodbye.

Church Valentine's Day Dinner / Photo Fun

Last Wednesday we had a Valentine's Day dinner at church. It was fun & they had a fun photo booth there too. Lots of fun pictures.

Weekend Wrap - Up

Wow , My blog I have missed you ...............

I enjoy writing and things just seems like I can't never fine enough hrs in the day for everything. Oh well here goes a little catch up of this past weekend.

For starters it was a three day weekend & I was excited. I had HUGE plans for Ridge & Thaniqua. I know they weren't as happy as me but I 'm proud to said We are finished. I planned on working w/ the kids on there Science Fair experiments . Thaniqua's little friend who also had one to do. I told her to come over & we would help her out too. She stayed overnight last night & this morning we finished all three of them completely. It is a lot of work & the school really doesn't have a lot of time to spend on them since they are pushed with other subjects. It's really the parents & child's project. It does count as a HUGE part of the grade for this quarter. I'm just glad we are done. Grades 3 thru 5 have to do one each year. Jennifer lucked out , her class does one as a whole group. Yay !!!

I do have to say everyone is better & we have a little cough still but things are good.

This is sorta funny , Jennifer missed 6 days when she was sick. I picked up her work & such. Her reading teacher was really nice & kept me updated so Jennifer would not fall behind since they were starting a new book. Well Jennifer read & read , the day she went back was her test on this book. Next day they got there scores Jennifer got 100 on both & did the best in the class. Her teacher said I guess I might as well quit teaching if the person that did the best wasn't even here. It was funny , we were very proud that she really studied hard while being off. Yay for Jennifer !!

Also today Paul had the day off and he got a phone call from his oldest son Justin. He hardly ever calls us. Well of course it was important he is getting married sometime in August. So I'm happy that means a trip to Ohio. I'm also happy for Justin & Christy

Valentine's Day 2012

Happy Valentine's Day was sooooooo nice .

My husband & I don't go all out but like my husband says everyday should be Valentine's Day. We really don't get each other things but we usually do something as a family. Over the weekend we got Pizza. It was such a nice treat. I was so tired of cleaning after all the sickness and it made me a nice break , plus everyone else.

I did get some beautiful White Roses.

Yesterday was my lunch buddy day w/ Jennifer at school. So I went & had lunch with her. We had a good time.

After our lunch I waited for Ridge to get done with band so he could give his GF flowers at lunch. It was all his idea. He wanted to so we let him. This is the same girl that invited Ridge to her birthday party last yr. She is so sweet & they are both in the same grade. I think he really shocked her but she was happy.

The kids had parties at school at the end of the day & lots of candy & goodies.

Late last evening my Mom called to tell me a friend of mine a classmate I went to school with , his son who was 17 yrs old was killed in a car accident. It happened yesterday morning on his way to school. Not sure of the cause yet. Please keep this family in your prayers. My heart is so sad for them.

Going to try to catch up on some blog reading tonight I'm sooooooooooooo behind.

Shocking News ~ Whitney Houston

So hard to believe , what a beautiful voice & amazing lady.

We were eating dinner tonight & I just happened to look at the computer. I'm still so shocked. I know that she had her problems & I'm sure the media will have a field day. I look at it this way she has a family that will miss her , tonight I'm holding them so close to my heart & praying.

Another note she is only one year older than me , always really gets me when someone close to my age leaves this earth. I know it can happen to any of us at any moment.

Candy Bar & Swiss Cheese ~ Six Years Ago

I know I will never forget this combination. I actually had it for breakfast six years ago.

I bet by now you think Wow I'm really nuts...........




Six years ago I ate this and drove to work. It was a Friday & no work for the weekend. I couldn't wait for the day to be over. I clocked in and started my day only for my work day to end in a half hr.

Why ?????????

Cramping and pain ...............

My boss such a sweet man gave me my check & told him I would be gone for the rest of the day. I drove myself to the hospital only to find out I was miscarrying my baby. I was scared to death.

I lost my little son " Riley " that day. Six years ago & it seems just like yesterday.

Yesterday I was grocery shopping & I was buying cheese & I got me a pack of Swiss cheese & a candy bar. Remembering you my precious Riley always but extra today.

I love you forever and I'm so much stronger because of YOU !!!
I miss you sooooooooooooooooooo very much everyday.

Sickness Again ............ :(

Well I have been on a little vacation from my computer.

I miss my blog and I love to write but that terrible word SICKNESS came to visit us.

It all started a week ago today Jennifer started running a fever. I kept her home the rest of the week from school. Finally by Saturday I was tired of trying to make her better so off we went to the Dr. Well she had strep throat then on top of that she was cutting her 7 year molars. So the we got meds & tried keeping her fever cool.

Then on Monday Carly was sick fever & slept most of the day. Tuesday was Thaniqua's turn fever & sleeping. More medicine & TLC.

Ridge had a cold but this week was 5th grade state writing exams so he is taking his meds & still able to attend school. I really didn't want him to miss that it is tough to have to make those up.

So I'm really hoping everyone will be back in school tomorrow. Carly was only sick a day just has a cough. Jennifer has a yucky cough & so does Thaniqua. Thaniqua also can't talk but hoping she will by the end of the day.

One part of being a Mom I dislike watching your child be sick & not much you can do. One other note the kids really hardly get sick they say this winter has been hard. I also don't do the flu shot but they said it doesn't matter if you do or not this year.

Hoping your all staying well this winter. Spring can come anytime for me. :)

Fever Broke Finally , One Happy Momma

My seven year old Jennifer has had a fever almost all week. Up & down so worried not much we could do but give meds to try & bring it down. Last night finally it broke soooooooooo nice to see her smile again. She still has a cough but the worst is over , I hope.

We said many prayers & God is Good.
Thank you for helping her get better. It is so hard to watch your child & not be able to do much. So many bad germs this winter. I'm ready for Spring ! :)
