Wednesday's Walk - My Grandparents

It's Wednesday's Walk .........

A look back at something special anything that has some special meaning to you. Just click on the button to join in.

Today I'm remembering my Grandparents on My Mom's side. They were wonderful and I spent lots of time with them in the summers. I can remember they were very involved with the church they attended. My Grandma played the piano at church. My Grandpa was the janitor.

They also were caretakers of the church cemetery. I know they especially taught me repect in the cemetery and how important it was to take care of the graves. Since it's spring time and everyone is planing flowers. It makes remember when I was old enough to help them I used to take a pair of hand grass shears and trim around the tombstones. How my grandparents never liked us to run and play there because it should be a place to remember those we have lost. Also my Grandpa never mowed the grass until Thursday's, so it would look nice for the weekend. I can even remember my Grandma taking a broom to all of the tombstones and making sure there was no grass on the stone. Some that got dirty from birds she would even clean them with water. I just think it was neat that they took such great care of something that meant so much to others. It is a great memory and everytime I go to a cemetery I always think of what they taught me and how caring they were to others.

Even though your not here today Grandpa and Grandma I love you and I know your in heaven looking down and smiling :).

The Missing Check

What a Mess ..........

About a month ago my husband, Paul told me they were going to start mailing paychecks starting April 1st. He could have direct deposit but has had some trouble in the past with money not being there when supposed to. So he has been one of the ones that still recieve a paycheck.

Anyway last wk after we moved I put our change of address in on Thursday. Which meant it prolly wouldn't go through the post office until Saturday since it as to go to the main branch. Well our mailman knew of our move and said he wouldn't send our mail back if it had the old address. He would just put it in our new box. I was ok with that since we knew his check would be coming.

Well usually it comes on Wednesday or Thursday and no check........ well Friday came and no check...... Saturday came and still no check......

Yesterday I checked the mail after getting the kids from school and still no check.... So I called Paul at work and told him there was no check so he said he was going to HR office and see what they could tell him. Well when he got home he told me they pretty much said it was our fault. It was up to us to check the post office and see what was up. Also they told Paul that if he wanted them to trace it or stop payment on it , it was going to cost him $ 25 dollars. Wait a minute that doesn't seem right when they are the ones that decided to start mailing them. Well I looked in the handbook today and I can't find it anywhere that it states that you have to pay for it.

So this morning Paul and I took a trip to our post office and they had no clue to where it was. We knew before we went what the outcome would be. So after Paul took 2 hrs personal time and went to work today. He told them what he found out. They cut him a check and also told him they took $ 25 dollars out to stop payment/trace.

Paul still isn't happy but glad to finally have something done and his paycheck. The company he works for is really nice but I guess this is just one of those little things we never think about. So I hope if anyone ever gets a check mailed from work they check out the policy for it.

Momentous Monday

Photobucket

Today I'm joining in on a new blog hop that I found from A Moment Cherished. Just click on the button if you would like to join in and link up.

Here are a couple cherished moments from last wk.

Last week we finished a few odds and ends from moving and my 6 yr old Jennifer has been the biggest helper. We only had a few boxes left and she worked real hard putting them in her wagon and taking them over to the new apartment in our complex. If you don't read my blog regular we moved to another one in our same complex hoping a little more quieter. Anyway she did great and said I love helping and when I get older I wanta be a MOM just like you , your so nice to help me put the boxes in my wagon. Here she was the one being the biggest helper of all.

Also last Monday when I was having so much trouble getting our cable company to get things re-hooked up like I had them before and I couldn't get the right channels in. I had been on the phone off and on all day. My son Ridge who is 10 yrs old said it's really ok Mom we have all those DVD's and we can just keep watching them til it's fixed. Don't worry Mom I have been praying real hard that God can let them know they need to fix it for us. Ridge said I told God if you could get them fixed by 5pm when Dad gets home. Funny thing at 5 minutes to five the cable guy called and told me to check our TV and what do you know it was fixed. It was all pretty AwEsOmE !!!!

Have a great Monday !!!

School Bells Ring Tomorrow

Backpacks packed

Clothes ready

Coats and Shoes ready

Believe it or not the kids are excited ..............

Kids are back to school and it's so hard to believe that three wks have passed by so quickly. This whole school year has passed by so fast. It's been a good one so many good things have happened for all of them this school yr.

This past break was a little not so fun but it was mainly the weather's fault. It was chilly and windy most of it but we still had a good time. We went to the library and had plenty of birthdays to celebrate. We moved and the kids helped with a lot of it. We didn't get to go to the park for a picnic but maybe the weekends will be nice , never the less just being together is important not what we did or where we went.

So tomorrow is the start of the last quarter of school for the gang. I know Carly will prolly take a few days to adjust to where everyone has gone again. I'm excited to hear all there stories at the end of school when I pick them up. Everyone trying to talk at once ....... it's great and I think to myself how I have been blessed with the greatest job in the world .... Being a Mom !!!

Best of Luck Ridge , Marie and Jennifer. Mommy loves you !!!

A Little Disappointed

A little disappointed.......

My husband Paul is a little down in the dumps. Yesterday he got a email from his oldest son Justin that attends Mount Vernon Nazarene College in Mount Vernon ,Ohio. Well I guess he found out yesterday that he can't be in any graduation stuff for some reason. I guess he won't finish all his classes he needs until May 10th and Graduation is May 22nd. Justin has had a tough time through college as in getting loans ans so forth. Well Paul was going back for Graduation , he had his plane ticket bought and things ready. Well Paul is still going back that weekend. He can see Justin and his daughter Jessica that also attends college there to.He hasn't seen them for 3 yrs. I'm not going because I didn't wanta take this gang out of school since they will only have 3 wks or so left. I knew if I went back there is too many people I would want to see and I wouldn't have enough time , LOL. I joking told Paul I might need a month to go back to visit. 3 yrs I have been gone is along time for me.

So like I told Paul he may not get to walk with his class but he will still graduate which is important. I know we will still be proud of him no matter what. So today we just wanta say Justin we love you so much. You have done a good job working and going to college at the same time.
