Look What Fifty Cents Can Bring ......... :)

Yesterday there were a few things I wanted to pick up from Smith's so I decided to leave right after Paul did for work , about 8am. I like to get out and walk especially since I'm not getting my 2 miles in everyday since there is no school. Well it was just me and the girls. Ridge stayed home with Jared to play on the computer and read. It's so nice to walk through the park early in the morning. It has been HOT here the past few days so that was another reason.

The girls already said they wanted to ride the little Merry Go Round outside the store. I told them on our way out we would. Carly wasn't to sure but ended up liking it. It's also funny how much fun fifty cents can bring.

Here's some pictures of there FUN !!!!

Even though Thaniqua was sorta BIG for it she helped Carly hang on.

Babyloss / Soap Opera / My Feelings

Last night I was watching my favorite soap " The Young and The Restless " on Soapnet. I'm sorry but I watch Nick Jr all day not complaining Carly just learns so much from that channel and I prolly wouldn't get other things done without it. Lol.

Anyway a couple on there just got married plus found out that she was pregnant. I watched it the other night when she found out she was. The excitment and joy , I could almost feel it. Then Tuesday nite she had cramping , so last nite she found out went to her OB and did the ultrasound only to find out there was no heartbeat. She went home and D & C will happen today on the show. They went home and he asked her if there was anything he could get her. She said just hold me. I know that he was very much excited for this child to but trying not to let his feelings show. Later in the show she asked him if he was ok ??? He said Yes of course. She told him it's ok if you want to cry , be sad , scream , yell. A tear ran down his cheek.

It was so emotional for me and my hubby , he was on the computer in the same room. We looked at each other. It brought back those memories of what we shared when we lost. I know that before I lost I would not have watched that all that close to what they said to each other. One thing my husband said was it's awesome she told him that it was ok to show feelings. It's still hard for me to remember what I said ???? I wonder if he felt like I cared ???? I know it was hard Ridge was almost 6yrs old and he knew I went to the hospital cause something was wrong with the baby. I remember those brown eyes looking at me asking if the baby was ok ????? I remember holding him close and trying to explain it to him but knowing he didn't really understand and I was so lost myself.

Today it's something how I look at something like that. A soap opera and a pregnancy. I will give that show a lot of credit they made sure to bring the husband's grief into it. Not just the wife and the D & C. I know it brings back painful memories but it also is great to see that they are in one sense helping someone that may be going through something like that.

17 Months

Our Little Miss Carly !!!!!!

She is something else , I think she could have been a boy at times. She is prety rough and tough but that's good. She tries to do everything but with the others around it's no wonder. She really is a good girl but I can't believe today she is 17 months !!! It went so fast. She loves books and to be read too. I remember when I was little I carried a book all the time , just maybe she got that from me. Lol

Here are some pics I tried to catch with my camera. She doesn't stay still for long.

This is her favorite show right now

" The Fresh Beat Band "

I think I know every show by heart. She loves to try to dance , it's so cute.

Happy 17 months Carly !!!!! We love you so much !!!

Our Weekend ........

Well this was my single weekend of the month. Paul works a lot at the end of the month. He worked 11 hours Saturday and Sunday he started at nine and it was 11pm when he got off tonite. All last week he worked 10 hr days. Poor guy though I know he is tired. Money is nice but sometimes it takes a toll on all of us.

I felt really good Sunday I surprised him by tagging him in a picture on Facebook, for International Babylost Father's Day. I left a sweet little message of course. We had talked about it a couple months ago and he even checked out the website for the Grief Effect on his own then. It's so nice that we can talk about our losses a lot better than we used to.

On another note today was nice just the kids and I. We didn't do anything special just took it easy. I had a terrible headache Saturday and it came back today. Carly wasn't quite herself either but she did eat and play some so it was HOT here today to. I had to go out and stop a fight between a girl and Thaniqua. I think things are settled , I hope.

Also Friday , Ridge and Thaniqua got grade cards which both were great. I wasn't to worried about them. Ridge has a teacher that in the past has taught middle school but it's good that she is a little more strict. All in getting ready for he only has this yr and next than he will be in middle school. Still blows my mind.

So the kids and I will go visit the library today or Tuesday to get some new books to read over the break. They are expected in school to read 20 minutes every night so just because we are on break we plan on still keeping it up. I told them it's just a good habit to keep up.

International Babylost Father's Day

Today September 26th 2010 is International Babylost Father's Day.

Today I would like to wish all those babylost father's a very Happy Father's Day. A day set aside to remember those children who are not here. Who were taken to soon. Just click on the button below which will take you to the blog that has a great video and others resourses there.

I know from my husband Paul , it sometimes seems like the Dad is left out. I know they sometimes handle grief in there own way. After I lost our little boy in Feb 2006, Paul tried to help me but I knew down deep we both were hurting. Then we lost again in Dec 2007. After that loss I found some help online. As time went on I started in a group Walking with You and my husband started to open up and finally talk about it. Today we both are doing so much better. Today I remember my husband Paul and others. I'm thankful that my husband has been there to comfort me on bad days or whenever. I can say we have helped each other and Today Paul you are a wonderful Father to all of our children but today we remember our children we never got to meet. Remembering how great and good God is we look forward to that day when we will see our children again.

Happy Babylost Father's Day to all !!!!

Found on Facebook

I'm so excited I found Ridge and Thaniqua's step-sister on there Dad's side. When I had Ridge , Echo was ten yrs old. Then when she came for visitation to our home Ridge played with her. When she was 12 yrs old her Mom moved to Las Vegas , Nevada. We never heard from them again and Ridge was 18 months when they left. I had Thaniqua after they were gone but I to split from there Dad and I know he hadn't heard from her either. I never wanted to give up and Paul & I did some research but couldn't come up with anything.

Last night while I was on a friends page I ran across a name of someone else. Here it was Ridge & Thaniqua's step twin brothers. Here I found them and Echo. I sent her a message and this morning about ten she answered me. She was excited that she found her little brother Ridge and Thaniqua her little sister she didn't know she had. She is 20 yrs old and just had a baby 7 months old. We are friends on Facebook and she got to see pics of the kids. It's funny to we are all in the same state. So we are going to try to see each other soon.

So I'm so excited to tell the kids when I pick them up from school today !!!! I gave Ridge a little bit of heads up this morning and he was very excited. Funny thing is Echo remembered Ridge's first birthday party just like it was yesterday. I also connected with the twins and there Mom. All in all it really made my day. Sometimes it's funny how things all work out.

Special Friday

Today I'm so Happy

But it's not the normal Friday .................

It is the kids last day of school for this quarter. So hard to believe. Then the next 3 weeks we are on break !!!! Hoping our weather still stays warm and we can spend sometime at the park for some picnics at lunch. Just spend some time relaxing !!! That's why I love year round school we get breaks at different times instead of the whole summer. It's supposed to be in the 90's next week so it will be nice.

Yesterday Jennifer got her report card and she got all above standard !!!!! In everything !! I was excited for her. Her first grade card from going to school all day. Ridge and Thaniqua will get there's today but I'm sure they will be good too.

So a Big Way to Go Jennifer !!!!

Hoping that you are having a good Friday !!!!!!!

I would also like to say a Big Congrats to my blogger friend Holly on the birth of there Rainbow Lainey. God is so Good !!!

Little Note

The past couple days have been rough. Some not so fun times for us but you know somehow with God by our side we make it. Paul works a lot anyway and especially the end of the month. I'm not complaining I'm glad he has a job.

Well yesterday I was stressed to the max and so after everyone had gone to bed and I had the TV on & was reading blogs. I found this on my desk. My little Jennifer left me this note. Just a simple little thing it came from her heart. I sat there and thought so sweet and cried. No matter what goes on and things could turn upside down for a while there is always something so special.

Love !!!!!!!

I remember once something my Dad told me a long time ago. Our neighbors used to get there kids a new toy every Friday. I can remember when I thought that was neat but we didn't get a new toy every week like them. My Dad told me we have something that they don't have. we have love for one another. I'm sure there parents loved them but Dad said what we have is real not bought. So today as I look at our family , we have love. Just like the simple note that was left , it means more than anything in a store.

Swinging into Fall

It's hard to believe it's fall. I like this time of year colored leaves , apples , pumpkins and all that kind of stuff. Wearing a sweatshirt too and football is nice too. I love hayrides and scarecrows !!!! It's just a beautiful time of year.

So Happy Fall to everyone. Hoping swinging into Fall is happy for you.

Today as I always pray I'm keeping a couple of my special blogger friends in my prayers today , Holly Haas and Courtney Peek. Hoping for nothing but the best for both of them today and always. Remembering that God is Good !!!!!

Great Song

Tonight I was watching the end of High School Musical w/ Thaniqua. I had a rough day , let's just say it wasn't a good Monday. They always play a video at the end of the movie to kill time til the next show starts which was like 8 mins. Thaniqua was getting ready for bed and I hadn't changed the channel. Here is the song I heard called " How to Believe " It is from Tinkerbell and the Great Fairy Rescue. Which is sang by Bridgit Mendler. She is 17 and her first single with Disney. Here the DVD for the movie is released tomorrow.

Anyway this song touched my heart as I listened to the words and made me think of my precious babies in Heaven. I love you both so much.

Ice Cream Social , Garden and Habitat

Last Wednesday was the school Ice Cream Social. It was a busy day and lots going on. So just the three older kids and I went to it. Carly hardly slept that day and she goes to bed about 7pm or so. Dad worked 10 hrs and I didn't find out until Tuesday night Ridge was going to have to stay the whole time because he had to do a presentation in the habitat. It started at 6pm and was over at 8pm.

So here is Ridge , Thaniqua and Jennifer

Jennifer and Thaniqua eating some yummy ice cream

I wanted to show some pictures of the lovely garden the kids have at school. They grow lots of different vegetables and fruit and flowers. Since there school is year round they teach the children a lot about the growing seasons. I think it's a great thing. The students even as young as kindergarten get the chance to go to the garden and weed , water , plant or pick things. They also have parents or families adopt a bed or two and take care of them. I adopted two beds for our family. Also they have a Farmers Market in the fall to sell there fruits and vegetables. The students run it and teachers oversee it. They get to learn math by the prices and other things. Last year money from the Farmer's market went to a student that attends there that has cancer.

Ridge and a pumpkin

Beautiful flowers

The school also has a habitat. They all kinds of things in there. It's really neat that they have all this at school. Ridge had to speak about the coyote willow. I took a few pics of him speaking. He did a wonderful job. He loves the chance to get to do things like that.

Pond in habitat

Water flowing to pond

Hope you enjoyed this. This one of the big reasons I fell in love with this school. They have so much to offer.
Also if you attended the ice cream social the students were given a Homework Pass to not do there homework that night. What another sweet treat that was !!!!!!

Remembering Nancy

Today I'm remembering a very special friend that left this life just as it was begining for her. She was the neighbor girl Nancy. She was very smart and had just graduated from high school in May. She was in a car accident on Sept 18, 1989. She was hit by a drunk driver. I worked for her parents at the church camp they ran. I always remember her as almost another sister I had. She was the same age as my sister. She loved the color yellow and loved yellow roses.

I remember when she learned to play the piano. One of her favorites was this song by
LIONEL RICHIE. Everytime I hear it I can see her playing it and singing so beautiful. I can remember when it was played at your service on the piano just like you did. I heard it a couple days ago and thought of you.

I've been alone with you
Inside my mind
And in my dreams I've kissed your lips
A thousand times
I sometimes see you
Pass outside my door
Is it me you're looking for?
I can see it in your eyes
I can see it in your smile
You're all I've ever wanted
And my arms are open wide
'cause you know just what to say
And you know just what to do
And I want to tell you so much
I love you

I long to see the sunlight in your hair
And tell you time and time again
How much I care
Sometimes I feel my heart will overflow
I've just got to let you know
'cause I wonder where you are
And I wonder what you do
Are you somewhere feeling lonely?
Or is someone loving you?
Tell me how to win your heart
For I haven't got a clue
But let me start by saying I love you

Is it me you're looking for?
'cause I wonder where you are
And I wonder what you do
Are you somewhere feeling lonely?
Or is someone loving you?
Tell me how to win your heart
For I haven't got a clue
But let me start by saying I love you

Today I remember your life and miss you so much. I look forward to the day when I will see you again in Heaven.

Love you Nancy so much May 13 , 1971 - Sept 18 , 1989
